This is the last paragraph written by Farrell Evans in an SI article. He made a rather large assumption based on NOT being there.
"Every day cops of all shades make snap judgments about men based on the external similarities between them and most of the men in this country's jails. It's hard to know fully what Sgt. James Crowley's intentions were with Henry Louis Gates Jr. But I know firsthand that while racial profiling isn't always perfectly racist, it is no less disturbing, even if it is understandable.
"
So, I fixed it for him......:-)
Every day people of all shades make snap judgments about men and women based on the external similarities between them and most of the people in this country. It's hard to know fully what Henry Louis gates' intentions were with Sgt.James Crowly. But I know firsthand that while racial profiling isn't always perfectly racist, it is no less disturbing, even if it is understandable. Gates went somewhere that has always been safe. The race place. This time, he got caught.
