I attended a Bruce Springsteen concert in Auburn Hills last night. I have probably seen his show 20-25 times. Heck, my wife and I even went to the Tom Joad shows. She gave birth to our second son, two weeks later. I wonder if that means last night was his second Bruce show??
Last night, my wife and I took our 14 year old son, Evan and his 11 year old brother A.J. We named Evan after Springsteen's son and have always told our son why. It was cool to watch the boys discover one of the great rockers and showman I've ever seen. He didn't disappoint. His high energy show had just the right mix of old and new. Though Bruce probably isn't cool enough for Evan's high school buds, he seemed to really enjoy the show.
Bruce delved into politics a little. I find it ironic that he comes to a depressed state, charges $85 a ticket, $40 for a t-shirt, $20 for a program, THEN complains how the War on Terror is for the profiteers.......Luckily, I don't have to vote for him. He sold millions of The Rising (based on 9/11) and is now selling albums protesting the war. Seems like he's one of those profiteers.......
Despite his party line speeches, I believe he is a genuinely good guy.........His music has always been a place I can go to get grounded...Preach on Bruce, just keep rockin....
